NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 41-year-old woman has died from her injuries sustained in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 24 east in south Nashville on Wednesday night.

Metro Nashville Police said Tresa R. Partee, of Nashville, died Thursday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Witnesses told police that Partee's 2013 Nissan Sentra was weaving in the inside lane, and then came to a complete stop near the Harding Place exit just after 10 p.m.

A 2007 Nissan Maxima traveling behind her struck her vehicle from behind, and then a 1995 Nissan Maxima struck the 2007 Maxima.

The drivers of the other vehicles were treated and released at Southern Hills Medical Center.

Police said they have not determined why Partee stopped on the interstate, but investigators were looking into whether she suffered some type of medical issue.

There were no signs that alcohol was involved.

The roadway was blocked until nearly 3 a.m. while police investigated the crash.
