NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a drug bust involving nearly 24 pounds of cocaine.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 27-year-old Mayen E. Flores-Garcia and 31-year-old Juan Mendez-Cabrera were arrested December 13 and charged with engaging in a cocaine conspiracy.

Investigators with the Drug Enforcement Administration said the cocaine was being transported from Texas to Nashville and was estimated to be worth $375,000. They said the cocaine was discovered in Flores-Garcia's pick-up truck. He was arrested at the intersection of South Gallatin Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard.

Detectives said Juan Mendez-Cabrera was intended to be the recipient of the cocaine. They said 200 additional grams of cocaine, three pistols, $50,000 cash and four vehicles were also seized during the investigation.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also assisted with the investigation.

The suspects have been held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
