NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 19-year-old man is wanted in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old man at a public housing community in Edgehill.

An arrest warrant for criminal homicide was issued Thursday night for Deion Woodruff, who police believe shot and killed Isaac Morris Tuesday morning inside an apartment in the Edgehill public housing community on 12th Avenue South.

Police said their investigation showed that Morris let a man, believed to be Woodruff, inside his apartment for the purpose of selling him electronic equipment around 11 a.m. Tuesday. After the two men went upstairs, gunshots were heard and the gunman fled the scene carrying a black bag believed to have been taken from Morris' apartment.

On Thursday, SWAT officers assigned to the Special Response Team and detectives from the West and East Precincts executed a search warrant at Woodruff's residence. He was not there, although police said they recovered evidence linking him to the murder.

Anyone seeing Woodruff or knowing his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers by texting the word "CASH" along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online.
