Cannon County Man Gives Away Christmas Trees

READYVILLE, Tenn. - A Cannon County man looking to embody the true spirit of the holiday season, has spent the entire month of December giving Christmas trees to those in need.

"Everybody can give something, everybody," says 57-year-old Oralee Meyers.

On 22 acres in Readyville, you can find beauty in every corner, and many would call it a Christmas treasure box.

There are 1,500 cedar trees on the property and he gives them all away for free.

It was five years ago, during his own financial troubles, Meyers first reached out to help others with what he had so many of.

"The families that come out here tell me with tears in their eyes that they wouldn't have a tree if it wasn't for this," he said.

If you are interested in a free Christmas tree, contact Meyers at 615-202-7879.
