Dover Home Damaged By Strong Winds

DOVER, Tenn. - A family in Dover spent Sunday morning securing a tarp to their five decades old home after strong winds ripped part of the roof off on Saturday night.

"It didn't last maybe 10 minutes but that was long enough to do the damage it was going to do," said Ryan Porter as he stood outside his mom's home on Frank Earhart Road.

Porter described the wind on Saturday as sounding, "like a bomb went off."

The family said no one was injured by the falling pieces of medal but now the family is trying to figure out how to pay for the damage since they don't have home owners insurance.

"Luckily nobody got hurt, that was the good part about it," he added.

Aside from scattered power outages officials said there was no other major damage in Stewart County from Saturday's storms.
