Former Soldier Charged With DUI In Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A former active duty soldier has been charged with DUI after Montgomery County officials said he crashed his vehicle into four cars.

Officials with the Clarksville Police Department said 28-year-old Nushawn Gaskin was arrested just after 5 p.m. Friday and charged with Driving Under the Influence and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

Police said the suspect was driving south on Wilma Boulevard in Clarksville where he was involved in four separate vehicle crashes. They said he had just left Olive Garden.

Witnesses told police the suspect had been driving erratically.

Two people involved in the collisions were injured and transported to Gateway Medical Center where their condition was not immediately known. Police said the suspect was also injured in the crash.

Investigators said the suspect had just been released from Fort Sill Oklahoma for desertion. They said he also had warrants on file for domestic assault and driving on a revoked license.
