Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Four families have been displaced just two days before Christmas following an apartment fire in Antioch on Monday.

Heavy smoke was reported when first responders got on the scene 11:45 a.m. Monday at Meadowood Village Apartments on Rice Road.

Three neighbors had to help catch a woman and her two children who had to jump from a second-story window. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the downstairs unit where it began, but there was smoke damage throughout the building.

The Red Cross responded to assist 13 people in four families who were displaced.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
