Memorial Service Held For Hume-Fogg Student

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A memorial service was held Monday for the high school student who was struck and killed by a semi-truck in downtown Nashville.

The memorial service for Elena Zamora was held at Saint Henry Church, located on Harding Road.

The junior at Hume-Fogg Academic High School was killed Thursday. She was crossing the street at the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Church Street when a semi-truck struck and killed her.

The driver told police he did not see the teenager. According to police, the failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk was the primary contributing factor to the collision.

A fund has been set up for the family as they deal with their loss. You can make donations to the Elena Zamora fund at any SunTrust bank branch.
