ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. – A woman lost everything, including her Christmas gifts, when her Ashland City home was destroyed by fire overnight.

Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, the victim's grandson came home after work when he saw his grandmother's mobile home on fire on Caldwell Road. He woke up his dad, and they were able to get the woman and her dog out of the home safely.

Firefighters quickly put out the blaze, but the mobile home was destroyed. The victim lost of all her belongings, including her Christmas gifts—just one day before Christmas.

Ashland City Fire Chief Chuck Walker said his department had just installed smoke detectors in the home about a month ago. The victim did not have homeowners' insurance, but she will stay with family.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
