THP Identifies Body Found On I-40 On Roane County

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Highway Patrol has sought the public's help as it investigates the discovery of a South Carolina man's body on Interstate 40 in Roane County.

The Highway Patrol said it received a call early Wednesday that 42-year-old Brian Taylor, of Heath Springs, South Carolina, had been found on the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 364.

A preliminary investigation indicated Taylor either jumped or fell from a moving vehicle and his body was then struck by at least one other vehicle.  There were no vehicles found near the victim.

Investigators said Taylor was wearing blue jeans, a blue and white checked flannel type shirt, and tan work boots.

THP's Criminal Investigations Division said they continue to investigate the death and "explore every possible scenario, including foul play."

Taylor's body was taken to the medical examiner's office for autopsy.

The Highway Patrol said anyone with pertinent information should contact the THP's Knoxville district headquarters at 865-594-5800.
