Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Semi-Truck In Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A 44-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck in Clarksville on Friday morning.

Officials with the Clarksville Police Department said Christopher Brian Johnson died after the crash around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 76 between Fire Station Road and Huntco Drive. 

The tractor trailer driven by Edward Loomis of Clarksville was traveling northeast towards Interstate 24 when Johnson was struck.

Johnson was walking along Highway 76. His family members told police it was his normal routine to walk or bicycle on Highway 76 and Madison Street in the early morning hours for exercise.

Officials said no charges were pending, but the crash remained under investigation.
