Metro Experiments With New Pothole Filling Solution

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In an effort to combat a problem that will never truly go away, Metro Public Works has started experimenting with a new pothole filling mixture in hopes of making drivers happier.

The mixture is called called "Easy Street."

"As soon as they're done filling the potholes with the cold mixture, traffic can ride on it there's no down time," explains Jenna Smith with Metro Public Works.

In 2013, repairs crews filled 850 potholes through the Metro Nashville area. That's about two potholes every day for 365 days.

"Road maintenance is something that continually has to be done," she adds.

Smith says unlike what they've used in previous years, "Easy Street" is a permanent fix and can stay in repaired potholes until it's time to resurface a main thorough fair or side street.

"It's specifically made for the climate here," Jenna says.

If you see a pothole in Davidson County you can call Metro Public Works at 862-8750. They try to fix them within 24 hours.
