MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Memphis man has been charged with vehicular homicide stemming from a wrong-way crash on an interstate ramp over the summer.

Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich says 35-year-old Andrae Willis faces multiple charges in the death of 37-year-old Robert James Toon of Bartlett, who died in a fiery crash in the early morning hours of June 30.

Police said the accident happened on the Interstate 40 ramp leading to I-240 southbound. Police say Willis was driving northbound on the southbound ramp when he hit Toon's southbound vehicle head-on, causing heavy front-end damage to both vehicles and engulfing both vehicles in flames.

Toon was pronounced dead in his vehicle. Willis was pulled unconscious from his vehicle and treated at a hospital.

He is free on $40,000 bond.
