Brothers Follow Man Who Robbed Them Outside Home

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A robber held up two brothers in front of their home, but did not get far before being arrested.

Police said 29-year-old Terry Chumbley pulled a gun on two brothers who were in a car in front of their house in Davidson County.

According to the victims, he told them to hand over their money or "somebody's gonna die today." One of the brothers gave him $400 cash, and Chumbley fled in a Chevrolet Impala.

Despite the threat, the victims followed the suspect and called police.

Police joined the pursuit and captured Chumbley on I-65 north. After his arrest, police determined he had used his brother's pictures to obtain a fraudulent driver's license in an attempt to evade police due to outstanding warrants for domestic assault and escape.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, identity theft, forgery, and assault. His bond was set at $75,000.
