Metro Students Will Get One More Day Of Winter Break

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Officials with Metro Nashville Public Schools have announced plans to push back the first day of school after the winter break for thousands of students.

The initial calendar called for a teacher planning day on Monday, with students returning to class on Tuesday.

Due to the near-record cold temperatures projected for the start of next week, school officials have decided to push the schedule back one day.

Tuesday will now be a planning day for teachers, and students will return from the Christmas break on Wednesday.

Central office staff and other 12-month employees will still report for work on Monday.
