Murfreesboro Crews Respond To Tractor Trailer Fire On I-24

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Crews responded to a tractor trailer fire on Interstate 24 in Rutherford County.

Officials with the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department said the trailer fire occurred in the westbound lane of I-24, near exit 76 in Murfreesboro. Crews arrived on the scene just before 9 p.m. Saturday.

Fire crews said the driver of the truck was able to unhook his trailer and drive to a safe distance away from the engulfed trailer. They said he drove for Trans Freight Inc.

The trailer was said to be carrying food products.

No one was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

There was no other information available.
