Woman Shot By Man Who Offered Her Ride, Say Police

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was shot by a man who offered her a ride just outside of downtown Nashville.

Just before midnight Sunday, Metro Police said the 24-year-old woman told them she was walking when a man offered her a ride. After riding around with him, police said they got into a verbal argument.

The woman was somehow shot in the ankle. She was able to escape and call for help from Worthington Lofts on Rosa Parks Boulevard.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police searched for the shooter, but he has not yet been arrested. Police said he was driving a green Chrysler 300, and has an extensive arrest history in Nashville.

No identities have been released.
