TULLAHOMA, Tenn. – A 90-year-old man was killed in a condominium fire in Coffee County on Tuesday night.

Officials said Daniel W. Greene died in the fire that broke around 6:30 p.m. on Chadsworth Place in Tullahoma.

After neighbors called in to report the fire, firefighters found the garage fully involved with flames spreading to the attic.

Crews were able to contain to the garage of the home, and Greene's body was found after the fire was put out.

The cold temperatures also made it tough for firefighters to put out the flames.

"The weather is dangerous cold. First responders had difficulty with water freezing under foot and had it extinguished in 30 minutes," said Tullahoma Information Officer Winston Brooks.

Two pets were rescued from the home. A fire wall kept the neighboring unit from suffering any damage.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known, but no foul play was suspected.

The state fire marshal's office was called in to investigate.
