Elderly Man Struck, Killed Near Busy Antioch Intersection

ANTIOCH, Tenn. - A pedestrian was struck and killed near a busy intersection in Antioch Wednesday evening.

The man was hit while trying to cross Murfreesboro Pike near Hamilton Church Road around 6 p.m.

Metro Police have identified the man as 72 year-old Fayez Rizkalla from La Vergne. They said he was hit by a Ford Focus driven by 51-year-old Lora Alexander of Nashville.

Alexander told investigators she did not see Rizkalla. Officials said he was not on a crosswalk at the time.

There is no sign of alcohol or drugs playing a role in the accident. No charges have been filed.
