Man Killed In Thompsons Station Crash

Posted: Updated:

THOMPSONS STATION, Tenn. – A 35-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Williamson County on Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on Harpeth-Peytonsville Road near Herbert Smithson Road in Thompsons Station.

A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said Brian Johnson was driving a 1993 Honda Accord east on Harpeth Peytonsville Road when he ran off the right side of the road, and struck a culvert. The car went airborne over Herbert Smithson Road, and then struck a utility pole. It caught fire after rolling over on the driver's side.

Johnson, who investigators said was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

The report did not give a reason for Johnson losing control of the vehicle, but said it did not appear that drugs or alcohol were involved. Tests were requested.
