Two Arrested For Kidnapping and Assault

Posted: Updated:

LaVergne, Tenn. -  A man and a woman are facing  kidnapping and assault charges and LaVergne police say it all started with an argument at a motel.

Jonathan Russell, 21, and Holly Summers, 31, were arrested Friday and charged with five  felonies. Police say they got into an argument with another man Wednesday afternoon at the Driftwood Inn on Enterprise Boulevard.

The argument got so heated that a 20 year-old man was stabbed, beaten and then taken across state lines in his own truck to Catoosa County, Georgia.

The man was dropped by the side of a road in a subdivision there. He went to a door and asked for help around 10:30 p.m. that same day.

The victim was taken to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga  for  treatment and is now home recovering.

Friday, investigators with the La Vergne Police Department arrested Russell and Summer charging them with robbery, kidnapping and assault. The two are also facing charges for fraudulent use of a credit card and false imprisonment.
