Nashville Plays Host For 29th Annual Stellar Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For one night, Music City switched its tune from Country to Gospel, as Nashville played host to the 29th annual Stellar Awards.

The awards show was held Saturday night at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville. Some of the top names in gospel music could be seen walking the red carpet before heading into the show.

The Stellar Awards has been referred to as the Grammy's of Gospel Music. Some of the nominees from this evening's show included, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Tamela Mann, Tasha Cobbs and Tye Tribbett.

"The Stellar Awards is always an exciting time… it's an exciting time all around," said Gospel artist, Charles Jenkins.

Jenkins was one of many artists who waked the red carpet for the awards show and had much praise for the City of Nashville.

"I like to call it (Nashville) the Los Angeles of the South… it's bustling with energy and inspiration—especially for music lovers," he said. "It's a place where you can come and at the same time, be inspired and feel at home and get you some Southern hospitality.

The Stellar Awards debuted in 1985.
