Posted: Updated:

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A woman from New Mexico was killed in a crash following a police pursuit along Interstate 65 in Kentucky.

Officials with Kentucky State Police said 57-year-old Linda C. Moreau, of Deming, New Mexico, was killed in a single-car crash just after 12:00 p.m. Friday. The crash occurred in near mile marker 19 in Warren County.

Officials with the Franklin Police Department said prior to the collision, they received a call about a welfare check at a Wendy's restaurant in Franklin. They said Moreau's vehicle had been parked in the back lot of the restaurant for over a week.

Police said when approaching Moreau, she became uncooperative and drove away from the scene towards the onramp of I-65.

Troopers said they made numerous attempts to persuade her to pull over on the side of the road, but Moreau lost control of the vehicle. They said the vehicle veered off the roadway and overturned.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
