CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested in connection with crashing a pickup truck into a daycare center in Clarksville on Friday night.

Clarksville Police charged 27-year-old Thomas Sexton with leaving the scene of an accident.

There were people, including two small children, still inside the Youth Academy on Professional Park Drive when the silver 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck came crashing in around 11 p.m. Friday. The Youth Academy is a day care that specializes in taking care of kids whose parents work late.

Surveillance video showed no evidence the truck even tried slowing down before it slammed into the daycare.

No one was hurt as a result of the incident.

Witnesses told police that the truck ran over the curbs, and struck the building. Three people reportedly got out of the truck, and two of them allegedly got into a silver Dodge Charger and drove off.

The third person ran into the woods.

Sexton was released on $5,000 bond.
