NewsChannel 5 Wins Several Emmy Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Saturday was a night to honor the best of broadcast journalism in the Mid-South at the 28th Annual Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards.

The event was held this year at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

NewsChannel 5 received a total of 12 awards out of its 41 nominations. Several times during the evening, award recipients talked about how grateful they were to work with the team of individuals at NewsChannel 5.

Some of NewsChannel 5's most talented directors, reporters, and photographers walked away with an Emmy.

Technical Director Mitzi Gargus was recognized for her skill in directing. Jerry Walker and Alan Adkins both won awards for promotions, while photojournalist Bud Nelson also took home an award Saturday night.

Reporters Jason Lamb and Chris Conte both walked away with more than one win. 

NewsChannel 5 Investigates was also honored during the awards show. NewsChannel 5 Investigative reporter Ben Hall and Investigative photographer Bryan Staples both received Emmys.
