Posted: Updated:

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – About 300 Fort Campbell soldiers were reunited with their families on Tuesday morning after a deployment to Afghanistan.

The soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion and the 101st Sustainment Brigade arrived back at the post just before 5 a.m. Some of the soldiers had been deployed for up to a year.

Families and friends had gathered for the welcoming ceremony, and were reunited for about 15 minutes after arrival before the soldiers had to turn in their equipment.

After completing some paperwork, they were able to return home with their families.
