NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man is wanted for questioning in connection with the death of his 76-year-old mother.

Detectives with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department's Madison Precinct want to find 47-year-old William Robert Aldridge.

Aldridge's mother, Mary Lou Shy, was found dead late Thursday on the floor of her apartment at Windlands East senior living facility on East Webster Street. An autopsy showed that she suffered head trauma from an undetermined cause.

Detectives believe Aldridge may have information into whether foul play was involved. On Monday, police said Aldridge contacted a detective by telephone, but refused to meet in person.

Aldridge is also wanted for failure to appear on a 2013 shoplifting charge.

Police said they were waiting to classify Shy's death pending the outcome of their investigation.

Anyone seeing William Robert Aldridge or knowing his whereabouts was asked to call (615)862-8600, the police department's non-emergency number.
