Pedestrian Struck, Killed On I-24E In Clarksville

Posted: Updated:

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 24 in Clarksville late Sunday night.

The crash happened near mile marker 6 in the eastbound lanes just before midnight.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said two men had just left a bar near exit 4 going eastbound, but for some reason turned around and began traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes.

The car crashed into a ditch, and one man walked to the highway to try and flag someone down for help.

That's when he was struck by a passing car. The name of the victim has not been released.

It was not immediately clear if the wet roads played a factor in the crash.
