Posted: Updated:

SPRING HILL, Tenn. – Spring Hill Police are investigating a rash of recent vehicle burglaries in the area.

Police said there was a large increase in car burglaries in January that has continued into February.

Officers responded to 18 vehicles burglaries from Monday night into Tuesday morning throughout the city, but predominantly in the subdivisions of Picketts Ridge, Wakefield and Wyngate Estates.

All of the vehicles were unlocked, so the thieves were able to enter the cars without notice, police said. Many items were taken, including money, laptops, purses, wallets, jewelry, GPS units, and firearms.

The Spring Hill Police Department has urged residents to lock their vehicles and secure their valuables inside their residences.
