NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified a deceased woman as the 78-year-old who had reported missing Wednesday night.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Margaret Parham was discovered in a field behind 2515 Park Plaza near Centennial Pak.
Security guards told police they saw the woman sitting near a small concrete wall early Monday morning. Later in the morning they discovered her body on the ground in the same spot.
Police said there was no evidence of foul play.
Parham was not carrying any identification and investigators were unable to get a match through fingerprint analysis.
A family member reported Parham missing Wednesday night. A news release from Metro Police said she was last seen in the 1800 block of 4th Avenue North near her home.
Police spokesman Don Aaron said officers were actively searching for Parham overnight until around 4 a.m. After failing to find her, the active command center was closed.
It was not until Thursday afternoon that Parham was identified as the woman found Monday.
Officials said Parham's body was sent to the Medical Examiner to detemine the exact cause of death.
The area where she was found was about four miles from her home. It was not clear if police knew why Parham was so far from home.
