NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A convicted felon wanted in a fatal shooting in Nashville last week was arrested Monday morning in Madison.

Metropolitan Nashville Police said 20-year-old Anthony Alexander was taken into custody by SWAT officers around 7 a.m. during the execution of a search warrant at an apartment complex on Due West Avenue.

Detectives had received information that Alexander was staying there. He was taken to South Precinct, where he refused to be interviewed.

A warrant was issued for Alexander Friday in the shooting death of Tahj Brown in a drug related incident at the Bavaria Apartments in south Nashville on Thursday. They said Brown was shot after getting into a white Dodge Avenger.

The suspected vehicle has since been recovered.

According to police, Alexander was convicted of aggravated assault in June 2013 for a gun-related crime and received a 4-year probated sentence. He was also served with a probation violation warrant on Monday morning.

Alexander was held without bond.
