CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a car in Montgomery County.

Officials with the Clarksville Police Department said 49-year-old Thomas Burchett was struck by a car on Fort Campbell Boulevard Friday night.

Police said Burchett was not in an intersection or an unmarked crosswalk at the time of the collision. They said he was not wearing reflective clothing.

It was not immediately known whether or not wintry conditions affected the driver's visibility leading up to the collision.

The victim was transported by Vanderbilt LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was said to be in critical condition.

Investigators said the incident was the sixth collision involving a pedestrian since December 2013. Four of those incidents resulted in fatalities.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Clarksville Police Department at 931-648-0656.
