Victims Of Lebanon Explosion Laid To Rest

Posted: Updated:

LEBANON, Tenn. – The Wilson County couple killed in an explosion last week were laid to rest at a memorial service Saturday.

Jon and Marion Setzer were remembered during a service at the First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville.

Jon Setzer, a 74-year-old retired lawyer, died when the package detonated at his Lebanon home on February 10. Setzer's 72-year-old wife, Marian, died two days later at an area hospital.

The couple's son-in-law, 49-year-old Richard Parker, has been accused of killing them both and is facing charges in connection with the crime. Parker pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and unlawful weapon charges at a hearing on Tuesday.

Authorities have not given a motive for the murders.

The family released a statement Saturday, expressing their gratitude to the community.

"They shined the light of Christ onto everyone around them and our hope is that others will be inspired along with us to continue their journey of illustrating the love of Christ," the statement read in part.

Another court hearing for Parker has been scheduled for April 8.
