TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Tourists at Elvis Presley's birthplace got a surprise bonus - a glimpse of the singer's ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, making her first visit since the last time she saw Elvis, in the early 1970s.
She was given the keys to the city Saturday, and said she was shocked the first time Presley showed her his childhood home. She said she doesn't know how his parents, grandmother and the little boy all lived in two rooms.
Chonda Best of Jasper, Ala., visiting with her son Noah, told the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/1gtWaFO ) they were surprised to see Presley.
Presley turned Elvis' Tennessee mansion, Graceland, into a major tourist attraction after his death. She says she's proud of what Tupelo has done and will send as much tourism there as she can.
