Man Surrenders In Alleged Shooting, Robbery Of Childhood Friend

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville man surrendered to police Wednesday night after being wanted for the shooting and robbery of his childhood friend.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 23-year-old Geoffery League, Jr. turned himself in at police headquarters.

He was wanted for especially aggravated robbery in connection with robbing and shooting his friend, 22-year-old Jeremy Martin, of Memphis.

Police said Martin traveled to Nashville to visit with League. On Saturday, the two were reportedly driving on Sulphur Creek Road when police said League pretended that his car had stalled.

When the two men got out of the car, Martin said League ordered him to take off his clothes and give him his money. Martin said he initially thought he was kidding, at which point League shot him in the leg.

He said he threatened to shoot him in the head if he didn't comply.

Martin handed over his belongings and told police League shot him a second time. He managed to walk to a neighbor's house to call for help and was transported to an area hospital.

League was held in lieu of $50,000 bond at the Metro Jail.
