Man Arrested After Search In Bellevue Area

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was taken into custody early Monday morning after a nearly three hour search in the Bellevue area.

Officials with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said the man got into an argument with his girlfriend at a home on Sawyer Brown Road around 12:30 a.m. He then made suicidal threats before firing a shot and fleeing the scene.

He was taken into custody around 3 a.m. only a short distance away.

Police brought out their helicopter to help search the area.

"There's backyards, residential areas, train tracks-- it allows us to search the area more thorough," said Captain Kenneth Walburn with the Metro Police Department.

The man's identity and charges were not immediately released.
