DECATURVILLE, Tenn. - The case against the man accused of killing Holly Bobo was discussed in a Decatur County courtroom on Wednesday morning.

Zachary Adams was not present for the hearing Wednesday morning, but the judge said he is required to be at all future hearings.

Adams has still not retained a private attorney as his family has not gotten the money together. The judge set the next court date for April 30, where the attorney issue will be discussed. If he does not retain his own counsel by that date, he will be appointed a public defender.

However, the public defender's office said they will not be able to represent him due to a conflict of interest with witnesses. Therefore, a public defender would likely be brought in from a different area.

Adams was charged recently with coercion of a witness. The new charge came last week after it was learned the 29-year-old allegedly tried to threaten his own brother, who is a witness in the case and incarcerated in the Obion County Jail.

An affidavit said Adams learned a fellow inmate at the Chester County jail was going to be going to be transferred to the Obion County Jail.

He allegedly then asked the inmate to pass a message along to his brother that said in part "he's the one who started this s*** and if he don't shut his mouth he will be in the hole beside her."

An affidavit said another inmate overheard Adams make the statements, which allegedly happened around March 4.

Adams was already indicted by a Decatur County grand jury in March with felony first degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping in Bobo's death.

Bobo, a 20-year-old nursing student at the time of her disappearance, was taken from her family's home in Decatur County in 2011.

Anyone with information about Bobo's disappearance has again been urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463).
