CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Two men have been charged with stealing from various construction sites in a Montgomery County subdivision.

Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said 37-year-old Carl Martin and 38-year-old Stephen Williford were each arrested Friday on a burglary charge. They have been accused of stealing items from construction sites in the Liberty Park Subdivision.

Around 3:30 a.m., police said the suspects were seen leaving the subdivision and were pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence. The deputy allegedly saw several items inside the truck that appeared to have come from a construction site.

Investigators said the contractor for the site confirmed that more than $10,000 worth of items had recently been stolen.

The two suspects were booked into the Montgomery County Jail on $30,000 bond. The investigation remains ongoing.
