Franklin Native’s Film Premieres At Nashville Film Festival

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Tennessee native, turned film star held the premiere of his new movie at this year’s Nashville Film Festival.

"Field of Lost Shoes" premiered Sunday night at the Green Hills Theater. Luke Benward, one of the film’s lead actors, originally hails from Franklin. He and many of the film’s stars came out to the festival for the premiere.

"Never underestimate the power of inspiration. If this movie has anything, it inspires people to think and participate in history,” said David Kennedy, the writer and producer of the film. “Cause these young boys were boys that though nothing would happen to them. And by a quirk of fate, they were pulled into something and they had to perform."

The movie is based on a true story of a group of teenage cadets called to fight during the Civil War at the Battle of New Market.

The Nashville Film Festival continues through April 26.
