Gallatin Police Aim To Identify Credit Card Fraud Suspects

Posted: Updated:

GALLATIN, Tenn. – Police have asked the public’s help in identifying possible suspects wanted in connection with credit card fraud in Sumner County.

Officials with the Gallatin Police Department said the suspects have been accused of creating fake debit cards in order to purchase gift cards from a Walmart in Gallatin.

On April 27, investigators said the suspects purchased 32 cards in order to make illegal transactions.

Police said the incident is connected to a recent breach of information at Ascend Credit Union. Four victims have been targeted since March 26.

The suspects were said to be Hispanic males. It was not immediately known how many suspects could be involved in the scam.

Police advised customers to monitor their bank accounts for unusual activity. Anyone with information has been asked to call the Gallatin Police Department at 615-452-1313.
