PORTLAND, Tenn. - A Portland bar owner was arrested after state officials said she failed to report nearly $500,000 in sales.

Jennifer Livingston, who owns Jen's Place in Portland, was arrested by Department of Revenue special agents at her home Monday.

Special Investigators from the Tennessee Department of Revenue said she didn't pay taxes on the sales from June 2010 to May 2013, which would have been about $46,000.

The 42-year-old was charged with 36 felony counts of sales tax evasion and one felony count of theft of property over $10,000. Bond was set at $5,000.

If convicted, Livingston could be sentenced to a maximum of two years in the state penitentiary and fined up to $3,000 for each count of attempted sales tax evasion and a maximum of six years in the state penitentiary and fined up to $10,000 for theft of property.
