Murfreesboro Man Accused Of Attempted Murder

SMYRNA, Tenn. – A Rutherford County man has been accused of attempted murder after he allegedly fired shots at three residents during an altercation. 

Officials with the Smyrna Police Department said 32-year-old Michael Williams has been charged with three counts of attempted criminal homicide after he reportedly fired shots in the area of Old Nashville Highway and Davis Park Drive in Smyrna.

The alleged incident occurred on May 7.

According to investigators, Williams confronted some individuals at a residence over property that he believed belonged to him. As he was leaving, they said he fired shots from a handgun towards three individuals.

A vehicle was struck by one round but no one was harmed.

Williams was released on $45,000 bond and has a court date of July 15 in Smyrna General Sessions Court.
