4 Injured In 2-Car Collision In Wilson County

Posted: Updated:

MT JULIET, Tenn. – At least four people were injured Thursday, in a two-car collision along State Route 109 in Wilson County.

The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. near northwest Williams Road. The roadway was shut down in both directions as a result of the collision.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said a vehicle being driven by 51-year-old Tony Clayborne was traveling southbound on State Route 109, when he swerved to avoid hitting a car in front of him and struck an oncoming vehicle being driven by Joseph Deathridge.

Deathridge, age 56, was traveling with 86-year-old Owen Deathridge. Both were transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Clayborne was airlifted to Vanderbilt, where his condition was not immediately known. Fifty-year-old Pamela Clayborne, who was in the passenger’s seat, was transported to Vanderbilt by ambulance.

Troopers said neither Tony Clayborne nor Joseph Deathridge was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
