2 Killed In Collision On Highway 31E In Sumner County

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. – At least two people were killed Thursday in a collision on Highway 31 East in Sumner County, not far from the Kentucky State line.

The incident was reported just before 3 p.m. on Highway 31, also called State Route 6, near the intersection of East John Davis Road.

Details of the crash were not immediately known but officials said a car and a semi-truck were involved in the collision. 

Officials with Sumner County Emergency Management Services said at least two people were killed in the wreck. Their identities have not yet been released. 

Northbound and southbound lanes of the roadway were closed for several hours a result of the crash. 

The roadway was reopened around 8 p.m.
