Hermitage Police Precinct Briefly Evacuated After White Powder Scare

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Hermitage Police Precinct was briefly evacuated after white powder was found on Tuesday morning.

Metropolitan Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron said the suspicious substance was found inside a roll of quarters that was delivered to the Davidson County Clerk satellite office inside the building on James Kay Lane, off Central Pike.

The coins were from a financial delivery service at a bank. It was not immediately known which bank the coins came from.

Crews from the Nashville Fire Department and HAZMAT responded to the scene. They tested the powder and found it was not hazardous.

No injuries were reported. Everyone was allowed back inside the building around 11:30 a.m.
