Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fire broke out Friday morning in the kitchen of an apartment at JC Napier Homes, south of downtown Nashville.

Black smoke was visible from the building in the 200 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard when Nashville firefighters got on scene just before 7:45 a.m. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire inside one of the apartments, and stop it from spreading to neighboring units.

Fire officials said the blaze broke out in the kitchen of one of the units, which was seriously damaged and uninhabitable. The other units were not damaged, but smoke got into the A/C units.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
