MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A motorcyclist died after his or her bike was struck from behind in Rutherford County.
Officials with Murfreesboro Police said the incident happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Franklin Road and Veterans Parkway.
Three vehicles, including the motorcycle, were involved in the crash.
Police said all three were traveling east when the first vehicle began to slow down for a red light. The motorcycle also began to slow but was struck from behind by another car.
The impact of the crash caused the motorcyclist to be ejected. The victim was struck again by the first vehicle.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene. His or her identity was not known.
No one else was seriously hurt in the crash.
Police said the wreck remains under investigation.
