New information could suggest a possible business tie between state Sen. John Ford and another TennCare provider.

The powerful Senate chairman has been facing an ethics investigation for a consulting deal with TennCare provider, Doral Dental.

Wednesday the company told TennCare it met with Ford and his business partner Ron Dobbins in December 2004.

Company officials said joining them to talk about the consulting contract was Osbie Howard, the president of OmniCare, a Memphis-based TennCare provider.

But Doral Dental said Ford's company was hired by previous owners and they haven't been able to determine what he did for the money.
