Scott has served as anchor of the Weekend Evening News at Channel 5 since October of 2004. During the week, Scott also reports and covers Capitol Hill in Nashville. Some of his investigative pieces have made an impact. After one report, the hiring practices at one of the area's largest employers were changed. Another piece about a scam impacting illegal immigrants has prompted legislation at the state level.
After living in Africa for four years, NewsChannel 5's Scott Arnold knew he wanted to get into television news. Scott's dad worked for a computer company and took the family to Lagos, Nigeria. While there, Scott attended an international school and enjoyed meeting kids from around the world. Scott enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life. Those experiences got him interested in journalism.
Scott came back to the states and went to high school and then attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
After college, Scott worked at television stations in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. He started working at NewsChannel 5 in October 2004.
He enjoys running and working out. In fact, he's already run three marathons, including Nashville's Music City Marathon in 2005.
