Saturday morning, 200 Nashvillians will pile onto four buses to retrace history.
In 1961, volunteers of all races traveled by bus to Alabama and Mississippi to battle segregation on public transit systems.
Students from all over Nashville will make that same ride.
Friday night, six of the original Freedom Riders told hundreds of college students at Fisk University about their fight for equality in the 1960's.
"We were full of dignity, pride, strength, wisdom, commitment...and that's who we really are, and I hope you will sincerely study the movement," Freedom Rider Diane Nash said.
NewsChannel 5 will have a crew traveling with the group on the freedom ride Saturday.
